Lyeywyelyer watched Wyelyeyewyen bathing in a stream made by recent storm. Even though he knew he shouldn't do it, the sight of light beams sent by spring Sun through young green leaves shining on her perfect body covered with huge drops of water going down and being sprinkled with her wings was just too beautiful for him to resist. Lyeywyelyer was in love with Wyelyeyewyen but now something happened what bothered him, and he wasn't sure about his love anymore.
Ancients, the same aliens who genetically engineered humans also made faeries. Faeries began their life as a toy, a practical joke - but ended up being so perfect like an art form, they were one of Ancients' most respected work.
For centuries, though hiding for obvious reasons, faeries were teachers to humans - much younger and more childish, but rough and violent race. Fire, wheel, astronomy, ... , vaccine, penicillin were gifts of one race to another. But now, a pupil has overgrown his teacher - and faeries got used to taking human technology and adapt it to their means and lifestyle, even making it better in the process sometimes. Fortunately, they are smart enough not to adopt to disastrous human lifestyle, though there are gossips that some watch television or even surf the Internet!
Some days ago, while Wyelyeyewyen was helping a stag-beetle it accidentally bit her arm off. And though she could concentrate her bioenergy into growing new arm, she decided to wear prosthetic arm instead. It was state-of-the-art electro mechanic arm with design taken from humans and enhanced. Black as night, with realistic, but visibly mechanical movements, it was stronger then real arm, but not as precise. Wyelyeyewyen claimed it made her feel more powerful and sexier - but Lyeywyelyer's feelings were now confused. He still liked her body and character, but that unnatural arm bothered him.
Technology serves well for enhancing lives, but replacing what one already has with the same or with worse just because one is a technology child had no sense. Humans were doing it - replacing social gatherings with television and concerts with stereos and so on, but that just was not natural. And Lyeywyelyer felt that it should be pointed out to his love.
"Something must be done with that girl. I shall talk with someone from her family to convince her to get rid of that black monstrosity. We, faeries, are not slaves of technology as humans, and we never will be!", decided Lyeywyelyer as he turned away and flew to his helicopter.
